Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere

Just finished up one of greatest pumpkin mini units ever! The children were engaged and picked up lots of new vocabulary. In past years we started our pumpkin unit BEFORE our visit to the pumpkin patch. This year we did the pumpkin unit AFTER going to the pumpkin patch. Reversing the order of things this year served two purposes 1- the field trip assisted with giving the children "prior" knowledge 2- hands on experience was valuable during discussion times...

everyone was able to pick a pumpkin, there were green pumpkins, pumpkins attached to vines, and pumpkin flowers,  (yes!)
